The Legal Identity Intelligent Suffix Adjudicator (LIISA) is an entity alias enrichment feature that enables users to receive more accurate screening results without increasing false positives.
LIISA processes the names of each entity – companies, organizations, or groups – within Castellum.AI's global risk database and adjudicates what is contextually important and what is not. LIISA then generates new and relevant aliases otherwise absent from government watchlists.
The purpose of LIISA is to surface relevant results when users conduct ad hoc searches that exclude 70% or more of an entity's full legal name. By extracting the contextually important components of a legal name to generate new aliases, LIISA surfaces more relevant results. This approach is based on the feedback of Investigator Platform users who regularly perform ad hoc compliance searches relative to high-volume KYC/KYB screenings or transaction monitoring which typically involves screening an entity's full legal name.
Below are examples of user requests and how LIISA increases match accuracy.
Using LIISA in the Investigator Platform and API
To enable maximum user flexibility, all aliases generated by LIISA are automatically categorized as Weak AKAs that can be excluded from searches to fit various use cases and risk profiles.
- In the API, use the exclude_weak_akas function in the request (See also: How is API data formatted)
- In the Investigator Platform, use the Weak AKA toggle located at the bottom right of the search panel.
