What is it
Delisted Lists surfaces entities that were previously sanctioned but have since been removed from active sanctions lists. It gives compliance teams visibility into historical sanctions exposure alongside current screening results.
Coverage includes OFAC (SDN, Non-SDN, SSI), UN Security Council, EU and UK sanctions lists, going back to approximately 2021. Delisted Lists is a premium add-on, available via both the platform and API.
How it works
When screening against Delisted Lists, results include entities that appeared on covered sanctions lists between 2021 and today but are no longer actively listed. Entries appear under a dedicated “Delisted” category in the platform and API, using the same identifiers and data structure as active sanctions records.
A few important details:
- An entity only appears if it was removed from a list source entirely. Movement between sub-lists within the same authority does not trigger a delisted entry. For example, an entity shifted from OFAC SDN to OFAC Non-SDN will appear as delisted from SDN, since these are separate list sources.
- Newly delisted parties are captured automatically on an ongoing basis. No manual updates are required.
- Coverage dates back to 2021. Entities delisted before that are not currently in scope.
Use cases
- Customer onboarding (KYC/KYB). Screen counterparties for prior sanctions exposure during onboarding, not just current status.
- Enhanced due diligence. Factor historical designation status into EDD workflows for higher-risk customers or counterparties requiring deeper review.
- Ongoing monitoring. Use Delisted Lists as a baseline check on whether any entity in your counterparty portfolio previously had sanctions exposure, supporting periodic re-certification workflows.
- Exam preparation. Demonstrate to examiners that prior sanctions exposure was reviewed as part of your screening process, with documented evidence of historical designation status.
Availability
Delisted Lists is a premium add-on and requires a separate Delisted Lists permission. It is not automatically included with existing premium access, including for clients who previously had access to any prior delisted data. Access must be assigned on a case-by-case basis. Contact your account manager or reach out to support@castellum.ai to enable access.
FAQs
How far back does the data go? 2021. Entities delisted before that are not currently covered.
If an entity moved from OFAC SDN to OFAC Non-SDN, will they appear in Delisted Lists? Yes. SDN and Non-SDN are separate list sources. A removal from SDN will register as a delisting from SDN, even if the entity appears on Non-SDN. Movement between sub-lists within the same list source — such as between country programs on the SDN list — does not trigger a delisted entry.
Does this work via API as well as the platform? Yes, both.
What jurisdictions are covered at launch? OFAC (SDN, Non-SDN, SSI), UN Security Council, EU and UK.
Will existing premium clients get access automatically? No. Delisted Lists requires a separate permission that must be assigned individually. Existing clients will need to purchase access or have it granted manually.
